Ibrahim Mantu, member of the Credit Committee of the People's Democratic Party of Nigeria who is chairman of the Nigeria-DPRK Friendship Association, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

It decided to arrange colorful political and cultural events such as meeting and film show to praise the revolutionary career and feats of the President on the occasion of the Day of the Sun, his birth anniversary.
