Education for Gifted Students in DPRK
Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- The DPRK has paid big attention to education for gifted students.

President Kim Il Sung underscored the need to improve the education in basic sciences and foreign languages, supply modern educational equipment to schools and build schools for gifted students in different parts of the country during his visit to Pyongyang Secondary School No. 1 on February 26, Juche 74 (1985).

Upholding the noble intention of the President, leader Kim Jong Il saw to it that schools for gifted students were built and took measures for improving gifted students education.

Over the past several decades, signal successes have been witnessed in the education for gifted students.

Many students have proved successful in national and international competitions including the international math Olympiads.

Pyongyang Secondary School No. 1 was awarded Order of Kim Il Sung and won the title of Thrice Honored Red Flag for producing over 70 holders of academic degrees.

Under the loving care of Marshal Kim Jong Un, greater importance has been attached to the education for gifted students in the DPRK. And a large number of students have received education at those schools, full of ambition to make great contributions to turning the country into a knowledge-based economic power.
