DPRK People Enjoy Lunar New Year's Day
Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- The people of the DPRK are enjoying the Lunar New Year's Day.

Festive mood pervades the streets of Pyongyang and local cities, decorated with colorful flags, pictures conveying New Year greetings, celebrating lanterns, etc.

Many people visit the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and mosaics depicting their smiling images in different parts of the country to pay tribute to them.

Juniors are making New Year's call to seniors and teachers.

Squares and plazas in Pyongyang and local cities are crowded with school children playing folklore games, including rope-skipping, shuttlecock and kite-flying.

Seen in parks and resting-places are people playing Janggi (Korean chess) and yut-game.

Restaurants are serving festival dishes like rice-cake soup and glutinous rice-cake on the Lunar New Year's Day.
