Birth Anniversary of Kim Jong Il Marked Abroad
Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- Events took place at the DPRK missions abroad to celebrate the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il.

Reception, book and photo exhibition, film show and other celebrations took place at the DPRK missions in Russia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Uzbekistan, the Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden and Nigeria from Jan. 31 to Feb. 12.

Displayed at the venues of the events were photos documenting feats of President Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un.

On show were works of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu, books and photos introducing Songun Korea.

Films shown included "Fireworks of a Thriving Nation", "Munsu Water Park".

The first vice mayor of Nakhodka City of Russia said that responsibility for the destiny of the country and the nation and patriotism ran through the whole life of Kim Jong Il.

The first deputy prime minister of Khabarovsk Territory Administration of Russia hoped that bigger successes would be achieved in the development of the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries this year, a year of Russia-DPRK friendship.

The chairman of the Committee for Founding the Sukarno Education Foundation of Indonesia said that Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il paid deep attention to the development of the friendly relations between the two countries.

The former general secretary of the Central Committee of the Czechoslovak Communist Party praised Kim Jong Il as a great man who put the unity and cohesion among the leader, party and the masses on a high level.

The chairman of the Communist Party of Germany said that Kim Jong Il devoted his all to the people's happiness, Korea's reunification and world peace and security all his life.
