Customs on Lunar New Year's Day
Pyongyang, February 18 (KCNA) -- From olden times, the Korean people have enjoyed the Lunar New Year's Day.

They have paid deep attention to making preparations for the Lunar New Year's Day.

Housewives make new clothes for family members, clean rooms and prepare special dishes on the eve of the Lunar New Year's Day.

On the day, New Year greetings have been exchanged among family members. It is also considered very important that juniors should make a New Year's call to seniors and teachers.

Holiday dishes include rice-cake soup, glutinous rice-cake, sweets, fruit punch, steak, liquor, etc.

The Korean people have also enjoyed the Lunar New Year's Day, playing yut game and seesaw and playing kite-flying and sleigh-riding.

The Lunar New Year's Day falls on February 19.
