The Peruvian committee for remembering Generalissimo Kim Jong Il said this in a statement on Feb. 10.

The statement said:

Kim Jong Il was born in Mt. Paektu, the holy mountain of Korea, on Feb. 16, 1942 and grew up while experiencing the eras of historic turn, including the struggle to liberate Korea from the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule and to build a new society, the great Fatherland Liberation War and the postwar reconstruction.

Under his outstanding leadership, the DPRK turned into an invincible power.

He published many famous works indicating the road to be followed by the Korean people and the world revolutionaries with his energetic ideological and theoretical activities and led the building of a thriving socialist nation, the struggle for Korea's reunification and the cause of global independence to a brilliant victory with his invincible Songun leadership.

We extend firm support and solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle to build a thriving nation and reunify the country under the wise leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.
