Birthday of Korean Regular Armed Forces Observed in Guinea
Pyongyang, February 14 (KCNA) -- A lecture, photo exhibition and film show took place at the Guinean Ministry of Defence on Feb. 6 on the occasion of the birthday of the Korean regular revolutionary armed forces (February 8).

On display at the venues of the events were photos documenting the Songun revolutionary leadership exploits of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu.

Also displayed there photos showing the proud history of the Korean People's Army (KPA) adorned with victories and glory.

Films shown included Korean film "Korean People's Army, Steel-Strong Ranks".

Alpha Cabinet Keita, commander of the First Commando Force of the Almami Samori Toure Barracks of the Guinean Army, gave a lecture titled "February 8, 1948 will go down in the history along with the invincible mettle of the KPA".

He said:

President Kim Il Sung started the work for training military and political cadres and paid great attention to creating units of services and arms necessary for building the regular armed forces.

He paid deep attention to the work for providing the foundation for the self-reliant munitions industry.

As a result, a military parade took place with splendor on the occasion of February 8, 1948, the birthday of the KPA as the regular armed forces.

Later the KPA inflicted a bitter defeat upon the U.S. imperialists who boasted of being the "strongest" in the world in the Korean War for the first time in their history, thus honorably defending the country's sovereignty and dignity.
