International Friendship Botanical House
Pyongyang, February 13 (KCNA) -- The International Friendship Botanical House in the Central Botanical Garden of the DPRK is bustling with visitors on the threshold of the Day of the Shining Star (Feb. 16), the birthday of leader Kim Jong Il.

At the house there are many species of plants foreigners and overseas compatriots presented to the great person of Mt. Paektu as gifts. They include Kimjongilia, Camellia japonica, Rhododendron obtusum, Pelargonium peltatum and other species of rare flowering trees from Asia, North America and other parts of the world.

Seeing those flowers in full bloom, the visitors have expressed their deep yearning and reverence for the leader.

About 400 species of flowering plants and shrubs and fruit trees grow at the house, said Kim Jong Ok, section chief of the Central Botanical Garden, adding:

The house has paid much effort to the cultivation and propagation of those rare-to-be-seen plants. In recent 10 years it cultivated more than 200 species of greenhouse plants and 500 species of field plants to supply them to more than one thousand units in the country.
