He said:

The Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people have resolutely foiled the U.S. and its followers' moves to stifle the DPRK and won the great victory last year under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.

However complicated the situation may be and whatever obstacles and difficulties may stand in our way, we should unfailingly achieve national reunification, a lifetime desire of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and the greatest desire of the nation, and build a dignified and prosperous reunified nation on this land, Kim Jong Un stressed, indicating the concrete and realistic ways to do so.

We, aspiring after Korea's independent and peaceful reunification and world peace, warmly support the proposal for Korea's reunification clarified by him and express belief that the Korean people will open up a broad avenue to independent reunification this year.

We urge the south Korean authorities to stop at once all moves against the DPRK and the U.S. to roll back its anachronistic hostile policy toward the DPRK and discontinue joint military drills escalating the tension on the Korean peninsula.
