Makkoli, One of Traditional Drinks Popular in Pyongyang
Pyongyang, February 10 (KCNA) -- Some restaurants in Pyongyang, including Munsu and Ryonmot restaurants and Pyongyang Noodle House, have attracted an increasing number of citizens with makkoli (crude liquor), supplied by the Taedonggang Beer Factory.

In this regard, Choe Jong Ok, manager of the Munsu Restaurant, told KCNA:

Makkoli has low alcoholic contents with peculiar taste and aroma. The drink is considered to be good for prevention of digestive troubles.

Kim Song Hak, a resident living in Janggyong-dong No. 1, Sosong District, said that he usually takes Makkoli as it helps promote appetite.
