S. Korean Organization Demands Halt to S. Korea-U.S. Submarine Drill
Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification in Pusan, south Korea at a press conference in front of the Submarine Command in Jinhae naval base in South Kyongsang Province on Feb. 5 strongly demanded a halt to the south Korea-U.S. combined submarine drill chilling the atmosphere of dialogue between the north and the south.

At the press conference the organization recalled that the Submarine Command was formed. It charged that the U.S. nuclear submarine Olympia entered the Jinhae naval base on Jan. 30 and took part in the drill on Feb. 5.

It went on:

The U.S. was keen on war exercises in the East and West seas of Korea by introducing Aegis destroyer in south Korea from the outset of the year and is now revealing its attempt for preemptive attack on the north with nuclear submarine involved. The U.S. recently held a top-secret strategy meeting simulating a war on the Korean peninsula and discussed a plan for special war.

The organization denounced the military drill aimed to mount a preemptive attack on the north as a dangerous act that chills the atmosphere of dialogue and causes an all-out war on the Korean peninsula.

It demanded an immediate halt to the submarine drill for aggression.
