The chairman of the Libya-DPRK Friendship Association who doubles as general director of the Sunbula International Friendship Club was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The preparatory committee decided to organize diverse political and cultural events including seminar and photo and book exhibition to praise the sacred revolutionary career and immortal exploits of Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star.
