Officials of Youth League Make Study Tour to Kim Jong Il's Birthplace in Paektusan Secret Camp
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- Chairpersons of the provincial, city and county committees of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League made study tour of the birthplace of leader Kim Jong Il in the Paektusan Secret Camp from Feb. 1 to 7 on the threshold of his birth anniversary.

The starting ceremony took place before the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo in Hyesan City, Ryanggang Province on Feb. 1.

The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statue of President Kim Il Sung before paying tribute to it.

That day the marchers entered Pochonbo where they went round the command post of the Battle of Pochonbo, the then police post of the Japanese imperialists, the sub-county office, etc.

At bonfire gathering at the foot of Konjang Hill they hardened their determination to glorify generation after generation the feats of Kim Il Sung for Korea's liberation and the indomitable fighting spirit of the anti-Japanese guerrillas.

The marchers reached the Paektusan Secret Camp via the Spring Site in Poso-ri, the Tableland of Junghung, the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site and Chongbong and Konchang Bivouacs.

They went round historical relics at the old home of Kim Jong Il in the Paektusan Secret Camp.

A meeting of officials of the youth league from across the country took place before the old home to take a pledge.

After arriving at Samjiyon, they held a meeting of adopting a letter to Marshal Kim Jong Un in front of the Samjiyon Grand Monument.

They looked round the monument and visited several places of the Samjiyon Township.

During the study tour they had a meeting to hear impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas read by them, a question-and-answer study contest and conducted other political and cultural activities and brisk political work among people.
