Present at the meeting were Hyon Sang Ju, chairman of the C.C., the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, officials and members of the union and workers.

At the meeting DPRK Hero Kim Sung Un, lecturer at the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, made a speech.

He said that President Kim Il Sung put forward the line of building the army after the liberation of Korea and developed the Korean People's Revolutionary Army into the Korean People's Army, modern regular armed forces, performing the undying feats in the history of the building of the revolutionary armed forces.

These regular revolutionary armed forces beat back the U.S. imperialists' invasion to swallow up the DPRK in its cradle and demonstrated the dignity and honor of the country and nation, the speaker noted.

He said that he shot down five planes of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces and was awarded the title of DPRK hero in the Fatherland Liberation War.

Then followed an art performance given by the workers' art group.

Put on the stage were choruses "Long Live Generalissimo Kim Il Sung" and "Song of the Korean People's Army", poem reciting trio "We Will Convey Long the Undying Feats Performed in Army Building", poem and chorus "Revolutionary Armed Forces Uphold Leadership of Marshal Only" and other colorful numbers.

The performers sang high praises of the undying feats performed by Kim Il Sung who built the modern and powerful regular armed forces after Korea's liberation and those of leader Kim Jong Il who developed the Korean People's Army into the army of the leader and the party and the invincible elite revolutionary army, holding high the banner of Songun.
