Women's Union Observes February 8
Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- There took place a meeting at the Women's Hall on Thursday to tell stories about the noble virtues of President Kim Il Sung on the occasion of significant February 8.

He proclaimed the founding of the Korean regular armed forces on Feb. 8, Juche 37 (1948).

Kang Yong Hwa who is a daughter of Kang Kon, an anti-Japanese revolutionary fighter, said that Kim Il Sung regarded the issues arising in building the army after Korea's liberation as the most important affairs, paid primary attention to them and successfully accomplished the cause of building the regular revolutionary armed forces in a short span of time.

Her father assumed the important duty as chief of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army at the age of 30 under the particular loving care and trust of Kim Il Sung, and had the greatest honor of commanding the parade ranks on the day when the birth of the regular armed forces was proclaimed, she noted.

Sim Kyong Suk, doctor of the Puksae Polyclinic in Moranbong District, said that DPRK hero Ri Hwal, her father-in-law, grew up to be an officer of merit who left a clear trace in the history of the Air Force under the care of the peerless great persons of Mt. Paektu.

War veteran Rim Chan Ju noted that in the Fatherland Liberation War unknown soldiers grew up to be combat heroes under the care of Kim Il Sung, displaying their valor at battles, and greatly contributed to the victory in the war. Then she sang song "My Husband Became Hero".

The performers stressed that the Korean revolutionary armed forces led by Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un would always win victory after victory, regarding it as their maxim to devotedly defend the leader.
