Alfonso Galdi, director of the International Department of the Leftwing People's Party of Communists of Italy, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee decided to organize a meeting, seminar and other colorful political and cultural events to praise the sacred revolutionary career and undying exploits of Kim Jong Il in the capital and local areas on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star.
