DPRK Pays Effort to Conserving Marine Resources
Pyongyang, January 28 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea pays big efforts to conserving the marine resources and exploiting them in an effective way.

It has intensified the state unified management system and legal mechanism over the marine resources and environment as well as the supervising function.

A work is also going on to build up an overall marine database.

The government has funneled much effort into sci-tech steps for exploiting the marine resources in an overall and sustained way on the principle of coastal management and protecting the marine ecological environment.

A nationwide concern focuses on the work to raise aquatic resources through survey of ecology and boost fisheries output with the introduction of scientific fishing methods. And efforts are made to pushing the aquaculture on a large scale and expanding the areas for conservation and propagation of aquatic resources.

Besides, researches are made into an effective way of exploiting mineral resources under the sea and a brisk work goes to prevent the sea tourist destinations from being polluted and spruce up them in a diverse and peculiar way.

Meanwhile, the DPRK government has planned to increase the renewable energy resources by developing various kinds of tidal power and sea wind generators to suit the specific conditions of the country.

It is attaching importance to the work for making the citizens have a proper understanding of sea environment and strengthening the ranks of experts in this field.
