South Korean Organizations Protest Supreme Court's Unfair Decision
Pyongyang, January 26 (KCNA) -- The south Korean organizations condemned the unfair decision of the court on the case of the UPP's (Unified Progressive Party) attempted rebellion.

The supreme court of south Korea held a trial on the case of the attempted rebellion on Jan. 22 and sentenced Ri Sok Gi, former lawmaker from the UPP, and others concerned to nine years in prison.

The Solidarity for Progress made public a statement condemning the supreme court for inviting shame by yielding to power.

The decision would be recorded as an action against democracy and the nation as it infringed upon conscience and freedom of expression and association and made a retreat in the movement for peace and reunification, the statement said, warning that those who made such decision and the present regime would surely face punishment.

The Solidarity for Democracy, People's Life, Peaceful Reunification and Sovereignty in a statement on Jan. 23 termed the decision unfair as it suppressed the freedom of expression and violated the freedom of political activities.

The statement voiced opposition to the present regime's moves to revive "yusin" dictatorship and showed the will to fight to the last to win democracy and freedom of political activities in south Korea.
