The editorial said that at a trial on a plotted rebellion case of the Unified Progressive Party (UPP), the supreme court sentenced former lawmaker from the UPP Ri Sok Gi to prison terms.

The court passed the verdict of guilty on him, charging him with the suspicious agitation for rebellion even though it said there did not exist an "underground revolutionary organization" nor there was suspicion about plotted rebellion, it noted.

Querying how is it possible to agitate rebellion given no evidence about plotted rebellion, the editorial recalled the public denunciation that the court made the controversial decision by reading face of those in power and conservative media.

How long the people on this land have to live with their freedom of expression violated, the editorial deplored.
