Schoolchildren Marching Pass through Hyangsan
Hyangsan, January 25 (KCNA) -- Schoolchildren from across the country passed through Hyangsan while marching along the course of the 250-mile journey for national liberation that was covered by President Kim Il Sung. The march is being made on the occasions of the 90th anniversary of Kim Il Sung's start of the journey and the 40th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's organizing of the march along the course.

After leaving Mangyongdae on Jan. 22, they passed through Kaechon and Kujang along the historic road covered by the President with the lofty aim to save the destiny of the country and nation in the dark days when Korea was under the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule.

Leading officials of local party and power organs and working people's organizations warmly greeted them and encouraged them while marching with them.

Marchers looked round the Soson Inn and the Tokgol Revolutionary Site associated with the significant history.

During a break they held meetings to hear impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas they had read and held popular dances, recreation gatherings, etc.

When they arrived in Hyangsan Town on Jan. 24, they laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statue of the President in the town and bowed to it.

They left Hyangsan Town for Huichon on Sunday.
