Rodong Sinmun Calls for Bringing about New Turn in Building Economic Giant and Civilized Nation
Pyongyang, January 23 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Friday in an editorial calls for bringing about a new turn in building an economic giant and a civilized nation to celebrate the 70th anniversaries of national liberation and founding of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) as the revolutionary, great auspicious events.

It is a militant goal of the WPK to glorify the DPRK, an invincible political and military power, as the best country overtaking the world in economy and culture, the editorial says, adding:

The economic and cultural fronts are the main ones in the building of a thriving nation and outposts for defending socialism.

Only when the DPRK overtakes imperialism on these two fronts where fierce confrontation and competition with enemies are under way, is it possible to more powerfully demonstrate the absolute truth and advantages of socialism.

The construction of an economic giant and a civilized nation is aimed to provide the people with the best and highly civilized life.

It is the grand plan of the WPK to let all people grow up to be revolutionary talents possessed of a wealth of scientific and technological knowledge, noble moral traits and strong physical bodies, while enjoying all blessings under socialism in the prospering homeland.

It is necessary to dynamically step up the building of an economic giant and civilized nation in order to significantly improve the people's living standards in this significant year and make a new history of golden mountains and fields and big fish haul and usher in a new era of cultural efflorescence in the 21st century.

Only when an uninterrupted great leap forward and innovations are brought about in the building of a socialist economic power and civilized nation, will the venue of the grand October festival be prevalent with people's jubilation and cheerful laughter and will the WPK's flag representative of the destiny of the people shed more resplendent rays.
