Kim Jong Un's New Year Address Supported by Brazilian Figure
Pyongyang, January 23 (KCNA) -- Acilino Riveiro, national coordinator of the Genuine Democratic Movement of Brazil, issued a statement on January 16 in support of the proposal for Korea's reunification set forth by supreme leader Kim Jong Un in his New Year address.

He quoted Kim Jong Un, Marshal of the DPRK, saying in his New Year address for 2015 that however complicated the situation may be and whatever obstacles and difficulties may stand in our way, we should unfailingly achieve national reunification, a lifetime wish of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and the greatest desire of the nation, and build a dignified and prosperous reunified country on this land.

The large-scale war games ceaselessly held every year in south Korea are the root cause of the escalating tension on the Korean peninsula and the danger of nuclear war facing the Korean nation, he noted.

He went on:

If the south Korean authorities are sincere in their will for the Korean reunification, they should discontinue all war moves against the fellow countrymen including the military exercises they conduct with foreign forces, make efforts for creating a peaceful environment favorable to the reunification and not seek "unification of systems" that incites distrust and conflict between the north and the south.

The U.S. should desist from pursuing the anachronistic policy hostile towards the DPRK and reckless acts of aggression and boldly make a policy switch.

We are convinced that all Koreans will turn out as one in the struggle for national reunification and glorify 2015 as a year for bringing about a great turn to open up a broad avenue to independent reunification in response to the patriotic call of Kim Jong Un.
