Rosanita Campos, vice-president of the Party for Free Motherland of Brazil, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee set the celebration period from January 16 to April 20 and decided to publish and display Kim Il Sung's reminiscences "With the Century", carry works of the peerless great men of Mt. Paektu on publications and hold diverse political and cultural events including seminars, photo exhibitions and film shows in the period.
