DPRK Strives for Localization of Building Materials
Pyongyang, January 21 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea pays big efforts to the localization of building materials.

In recent years Pyongyang University of Architecture has developed many kinds of quality building materials with domestic raw materials and technologies.

They include multifarious building fixtures, based on 100 percent local raw materials and technology, and unplasticized cement made with coal ash and other waste materials and additives.

The multifunctional building fixture, made from natural stones, is of high utility in aspects of heat insulation, sound absorption and decoration.

An outdoor paint made of potash water glass is cheaper in the production cost than poly acrylic paints. This environment-friendly material is superior in every aspect to other paints.

Researchers of the university also produced stone plaques with different colors and foam glass laggings, which have been already applied in practice to win popularity.
