Part-time Workers Suppressed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, January 13 (KCNA) -- The south Korean security authorities are frantically suppressing the part-time workers demanding their right to existence.

Those affiliated to the trade union of the Solidarity of Huimang have been on a strike since Nov. 20 last year in demand of stable employment, wage hike, shorter working hours and guarantee of trade union activities.

They occupied the building of the company head office in Seoul and staged a sit-in strike in demand of an interview with the management side on Jan. 6.

The security authorities hurled police to arrest at least 200 unionists and issued a warrant of arrest against leading members of the union on charges of "intrusion into building" and "disturbance of performance of duty."

They also threatened to take a legal action against at least 400 unionists who took part in the strike.

The trade union declared an action in protest against the suppression.
