Action Staged against Authorities' Moves to Revive "Yusin" Dictatorship
Pyongyang, January 12 (KCNA) -- Members of the Association for Supporting Prisoners of Conscience of the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy, the Committee for Peaceful Reunification under the Pastorate Council for Realizing Justice and Peace and other progressive organizations in south Korea held a press conference at the Christian Church in Seoul on Jan. 8 to denounce the authorities' moves to revive "yusin" dictatorship.

The organizations accused the south Korean authorities of suppressing the progressive forces through confiscation and search operations in the wake of forcible disbandment of the Unified Progressive Party.

The present regime which came to power through election rigging has strictly enforced "yusin" dictatorship in all aspects; it put the people's living into distress and drove the south-north relations into the worst phase by following pro-U.S. country-selling policies, they noted, and went on:

The chief executive is working hard to revive "yusin" dictatorship but she will never succeed.

They declared they would launch a sit-in strike to spark off actions for democracy against "yusin" dictatorship and inform the people of the deplorable situation created by the rule of the present regime under the pretext of security.

At the end of the press conference they staged a sit-in strike.
