In this regard, Kwon O Song, a researcher of the Central Zoo, told KCNA that the new medicine is a compound of bear's gall and extract from pith of Maackia amurensis and has proved to be efficacious against liver diseases like fatty liver and hepatitis.

The medicine was awarded the DPRK patent.
