Production on Increase in DPRK
Pyongyang, January 8 (KCNA) -- Workers in the leading sectors of national economy of the DPRK have turned out in a drive to carry out the tasks set forth by supreme leader Kim Jong Un in his New Year address.

Production quotas have been overfulfilled by thermal power stations, coal mines and steel mills across the country.

Thermal power stations, including the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex, the Chongchongang Thermal Power Station, the East Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant and the Sunchon Thermal Power Station, are rapidly increasing electricity production, operating generators at full capacity.

Coal output has been increased at collieries in Sunchon, Tokchon and Pukchang areas.

According to data available from the Ministry of Coal Industry, coal production in the first week after the New Year's Day has been increased more than tens of thousands tons as compared with that in the past.

The Chollima Steel Complex overfulfilled its daily assignment by 120 percent on the New Year's Day and the Chongjin Steel Plant its quota by 150 percent on a daily basis.

Increased production of steel has been also witnessed at the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex.
