Nepali Political Parties Denounce S. Korean Regime's Politically-motivated Terrorism against UPP
Pyongyang, January 4 (KCNA) -- The Nepal Communist Party (United Marxist-Leninist), the Nepal Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist), the Nepal Communist Party (United) and the Nepal Worker-Peasant Party released a joint statement on Dec. 27 last year censuring the south Korean authorities' politically-motivated terrorism against the Unified Progressive Party (UPP).

The statement noted:

The forcible disbandment of the progressive party calling for democracy, freedom and independent reunification is no more than an illegal and undemocratic act against the people's freedom of choice.

We hope Korea's independent and peaceful reunification would be realized on the basis of the great national unity and lasting peace and stability would settle on the Korean peninsula.

We reject the conservative forces' infringing upon the acts of violating democracy, freedom and human rights.

The south Korean authorities should stop their acts against progressive political parties and organizations and make efforts for peace, democracy and independent and peaceful reunification on the Korean peninsula.

We strongly urge the south Korean authorities to respect democratic norms of humankind.
