New Year's Day Celebrated in DPRK
Pyongyang, January 1 (KCNA) -- Service personnel and people across the country celebrated the New Year's Day, Juche 104 (2015).

People from all walks of life visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, sacred temple of Juche, where President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il lie in state.

They made a bow to the portraits of smiling Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il at the plaza of the palace.

Service personnel, people of all social strata, school youth and children paid homage to the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il across the country.

Performances were given at the theatres in Pyongyang.

A New Year concert was given by the Samjiyon Band of the Mansudae Art Troupe at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre while an art performance by the artistes of the National Folk Art Troupe at the Ponghwa Art Theatre.

There was an acrobatic performance by the National Circus at the Pyongyang Circus Theatre to please working people and school youth and children.

Schoolchildren's New Year performance was given at the Hamhung Grand Theatre and Korean-wrestling, tug of war, rope-skipping and other Korean folk games took place at Hamhung Square.

Pyongyangites spent a happy time at the Rungna Dolphinarium, Rungna 4-D Simulation Cinema, People's Open-air Ice Rink, Amusement Park in Kaeson Youth Park and Munsu Water Park

Specialties were served at the public catering establishments and centers in the capital and local areas.

Dwellers of the apartment houses for the educators of Kim Il Sung University and Kim Chaek University of Technology, Wisong Scientists Residential Quarters, Changjon Street, Ochon Tanphung Village also spent a happy New Year's Day.
