"Constitutional Court" Flailed for Dissolving Political Party in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- The south Korean newspaper Hangyore on Saturday carried an editorial titled "Death of democracy, death of constitutional court".

The editorial said the "constitutional court" made a decision on disbanding the Unified Progressive Party (UPP) on Friday, depriving lawmakers from the party of their membership as "National Assemblymen".

It went on:

The decision has neither evidence nor credible ground. The decision was passed on the minority political party for the reason that it is opposed to the will of many.

This has crudely violated democracy, putting democracy of south Korea in the danger of dissolution and disbandment.

The recent decision is a big blunder to be recorded in the judicial history.

Utterly unreasonable are the reason and justifications behind the recent decision.

It is an act ultra vires that the court deprived lawmakers from the UPP of their membership as "National Assemblymen".

So huge is the loss to society as freedom of political party and freedom of political assembly will be seriously violated due to the dissolution of the political party.

The political will of the majority of people who approved the progressive logic will be dismissed as "violation of constitution" and an "act following the north".

Today the UPP was ousted but no one can vouch who will be the next target.

Question concerning the ground for the existence of the "constitutional court" will surely be raised as a result of the violation of democracy by it.
