Exhibition of Landscape Paintings and Craftworks Opens
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- A national exhibition of landscape paintings and craftworks opened at the Pyongyang International House of Culture on Friday to celebrate the 97th birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk.

On display in the center of the exhibition hall are the painting depicting President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and the painting depicting Kim Jong Suk.

On display in the exhibition hall are more than 300 art pieces including Korean paintings, oil paintings, embroideries and craftworks presented by art creators from across the country.

Korean paintings "Mt. Paektu in Morning" and "Sobaeksu Valley in Winter," acryl painting "Chongbong Secret Camp" and others help visitors recollect the precious revolutionary career and feats of Kim Jong Suk, woman commander of Mt. Paektu who was the most faithful to Kim Il Sung and carved out rosy future of the victorious advance of the revolutionary cause of Juche.

Also on display are Korean paintings "New landscape in land creating Korean speed" and "New appearance of Lake Yonphung," oil panting "Sea reporting big fish haul in morning," Korean gem-powdered painting "Masik ridge in winter" and acryl painting "Vast expanse of apple orchards at foot of Chol Pass" and others. They deal with the spirit and stirring reality of the country where the noble will and desire of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu have come true under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

On display there are also ceramic crafts, woodcrafts, gem-cutting crafts, etc. showing the creative wisdom and talents of the Korean people.

Officials in the field of culture and art, art creators, fans and citizens including university students went round the exhibition hall on the day.
