Protection of National Heritages Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, December 11 (KCNA) -- A work to protect the national heritages is gaining momentum in the DPRK, with the publication of supreme leader Kim Jong Un's work "To Protect National Heritage Is a Patriotic Undertaking for Adding Brilliance to the History and Traditions of Our Nation" as an occasion.

In this regard, Ro Chol Su, deputy director of the National Authority for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, told KCNA:

Big efforts are directed to preserving national heritages in conformity with principle of historicism.

The Authority has stepped up a work to make a scientific study of historical relics and remains in the country, keeping in touch with the Academy of Social Sciences and the History Faculty of Kim Il Sung University.

It also pays attention to putting the preservation of national heritages on a scientific basis. A work is going on to classify the national heritages across the country into various indices and make database for handling them in a quick and accurate way. And geographical information system (GIS) is applied to discovery and preservation of relics and remains.

Meanwhile, the Authority has pushed ahead with a work to produce materials necessary for the preservation of heritages, in cooperation with the Hamhung Branch of the State Academy of Sciences and other scientific institutes.
