Solidarity Action Expands in Support of Strike Protesting Layoff of Part-time Workers in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 11 (KCNA) -- Part-time workers in the field of wire broadcasting have been on sit-in strike for the right to existence in south Korea, according to CBS of south Korea.

Enraged by the company side's action of violating human rights, trampling down even the elementary right of workers to existence they launched a sit-in strike outside the press center in Seoul at which they declared they would carry on their action till their demands are met.

This is joined in by people from various walks of life in south Korea.

1 090 members of civic and public organizations grouping people of different social standings published a declaration in demand of the reinstatement of discharged workers and stop to restructuring.

Civic and public organizations held a press conference at which they declared they would launch an indefinite sit-in strike until the issue is settled.

The Citizens Solidarity for Democratic Society and the Solidarity for Social Progress also staged a similar action from Dec. 9.
