The work, published on December 8, Juche 53 (1964), indicates the themes of revolutionary films such as the anti-Japanese armed struggle, the Fatherland Liberation War and the postwar reconstruction and rehabilitation and also those for arousing the working people to a great revolutionary surge.

It also clarifies the principle to be maintained in creating revolutionary films such as an issue of properly combining the ideological value and artistry of film pieces and one of ceaselessly training film artistes in a revolutionary way and taking good care of their lives, and ways to observe it.

A meeting took place at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre on Monday to mark the anniversary.

Present there were Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), officials concerned and those in the sector of film art and creators and artistes.

Ryang Hong Ju, chief secretary of party committee of the Ministry of Culture, made a report.

He said that the ideology and theory of creating revolutionary films indicated by the President in the work fully demonstrated its validity under the guidance of leader Kim Jong Il.

He stressed that all the officials, creators and artistes in the sector of the film art should create many more famous films powerfully inspiring the general advance for opening a new period of prosperity of Songun Korea under the leadership of the WPK.
