Japan's Moves to Emerge Military Giant Slammed
Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification of south Korea held the 1155th Wednesday meeting denouncing Japan for resorting to the moves to distort history and to turn itself into a military giant.

At the meeting, the speakers accused the Japanese prime minister of denying the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army enforced in the past and describing it as "groundless mud-slinging" and the ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan of insisting on the repeal of the Asian Women's Foundation's appeal in which it called for admitting the past crimes and making an official apology and legal reparation.

Japan's exercise of the right to collective self-defense is to violate its pacifist Constitution and breach the UN charter, they held.

They urged Japan to stop the acts of distorting the history and opt for honestly settling the issue of sexual slavery, though belatedly.

They demanded Japan stop at once its moves to turn it into a military giant which pose a threat to the peace and stability in Northeast Asia while crying out for the exercise of the right to collective self-defense.
