Strikes for Vital Rights Declared in South Korea
Pyongyang, December 3 (KCNA) -- A branch of the Seoul regional general trade union under the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions declared a strike for vital rights, according to CBS of south Korea on Nov. 29.

The organization recalled that a worker of the branch recently committed a self-immolation, declaring that it would launch a protest against the company side trampling down the elementary right of the workers and refusing to pay even low wages to them.

At least 30,000 workers belonging to the Confederation held a meeting in Seoul at which they declared that workers, peasants and poor people would struggle against the unpopular and anti-human rights rule of the conservative ruling forces.

Members of the Hyundai Heavy Industry Trade Union, the Hyundai Samho Heavy Industry branch under the Metal Industry Trade Union, the Ssangyong Motors branch of the Metal Industry Trade Union and other trade unions held meetings and staged strikes denouncing the puppet group's fascist acts of trampling down the right to existence and clamping down the labor movement.
