Rodong Sinmun Demands Repeal of "Security Law"
Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- 66 years have passed since the fascist "Security Law" was cooked up. Rodong Sinmun Monday runs an article in this regard.

On December 1, 1948, traitor Syngman Rhee cooked up the "Security Law," a copy of the "Public Order Act" enforced under the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists, to suppress and punish those people who opposed the setting up of the "separate government" inviting a national ruin in south Korea, the article says, and goes on:

Since then the "Security Law" has been retrogressively revised many a time as a tool for maintaining and strengthening the fascist dictatorial system whenever the people's desire for independence, democracy and reunification of the country grew strong and the crisis of the puppet ruling quarters got serious.

From the very day of the appearance of the "Security Law" it earned an ill-fame as a tool for the south Korean puppet ruling quarters' stay in power and the elimination of the political opponents and a means for stamping out the people's movement for independence, democracy and reunification.

The "Security Law" became more draconian after the present chief executive, descendant of the "yusin" dictatorship, came to power in south Korea.

The puppet group revived the "yusin" dictatorship and is brutally suppressing the progressive political parties, organizations and media organs, which conducted legitimate activities in the past, after branding them as "forces following the north" and "forces for overthrowing the system" by invoking the "Security Law".

The south Korean puppet ruling quarters have turned south Korea into the world's worst tundra of human rights by invoking the "Security Law." It is shameless, indeed, for them to get frantic with the anti-DPRK campaign together with outside forces over the "human rights" issue.

There can be neither democratization of south Korean society nor human rights nor improved north-south relations without the repeal of the "Security Law" against democracy and reunification.
