Rodong Sinmun Calls for Defending Dignity of Nation
Pyongyang, November 25 (KCNA) -- The Korean people have enshrined deep in their mind the truth that the dignity and honor of the nation are dearer than their lives, Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says in an article.

The bitter history of the Korean nation clearly teaches that a nation should protect its dignity by its own efforts, the article notes, and goes on:

We are now leading a worthy life, proud of being members of the Korean nation. Towering high is the dignity of the Korean people who had once been exposed to the danger of loosing their Korean names forever, subject to the destiny of a stateless nation due to a fierce scramble among big powers.

The U.S. has always sustained defeats in its showdown with the DPRK because it has never tried to see and understand the mental power of the Korean nation.

Is the U.S. aware of what consequences would be entailed by its act of hurting the self-esteem of the Korean people living with high pride, enjoying human rights under the most advantageous social system in the world, and of daring defame the dignity of their country which they deem dearer than their own lives?

Impaired self-respect knows no mercy. One can never show mercy to the enemy defaming one's dignity.

The world will soon clearly witness that the DPRK's declaration of its will to bolster up its war deterrence without limitation to cope with the U.S. armed intervention and invasion is not an empty talk.

The service personnel and people of the DPRK will mercilessly blow up the citadel of evils to defend the Korean style socialist system, a land of bliss for the dignity of the nation and genuine human rights, the article concludes.
