DPRK Pays Effort to Protection of Cultural Heritages
Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- A brisk drive is going on in the DPRK to protect the nation's cultural heritages.

In particular, South Hwanghae Province has taken the lead in this drive.

Kim Chol Hyon, director of the Bureau for Protection and Management of Pleasure Park and Cultural Heritages on Mt. Kuwol of the South Hwanghae Provincial People's Committee, told KCNA:

True to the noble intention of the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, officials and inhabitants of the province have turned out in the work to glorify the country with long history and brilliant culture.

Priority was given to well preserving the Mausoleum of Kogukwon, the 21st king of Koguryo (B.C. 277-A.D. 668), as befitting the leading relics representing the Eastern Culture in the 4th century. And we directed efforts to taking care of Mt. Kuwol, one of the famous mountains in Korea, and other scenic spots in the province.

We also pay attention to instilling the spirit of valuing the nation's cultural heritages into the schoolchildren and other inhabitants through visits to historical relics and scenic spots.

Kang Hui Yon, director of the Haeju Folklore Park Management Office, said:

Haeju City has a lot of spots of scenic beauty and historical interest.

My office has worked hard to preserve in their original state Puyong Pavilion and other historical relics in the area of the folklore park, while taking measures to protect them from winter damage and planting many trees and turf around the park.
