Rodong Sinmun Urges Japan to Settle Its Past Crimes
Pyongyang, November 18 (KCNA) -- 109 years have passed since the Japanese imperialists fabricated "Ulsa (1905) Five-point Treaty" in a brigandish way and enforced the fascist colonial rule over Korea in the last century.

Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says in an article in this regard:

On November 17, 1905 the Japanese imperialists threatened the Korean feudal government to conclude the "five-point treaty" and on the basis of it they deprived Korea of its diplomatic sovereignty and turned Korea into their colony.

Under their colonial rule Korea suffered huge human, material and cultural losses and the Korean people underwent unspeakable misfortune and pain as colonial slaves.

Nevertheless, some forces of Japan are still justifying the colonial rule over Korea in the past and talking nonsense that the "Ulsa Five-point Treaty" was "legally" concluded with the Korean feudal government and, accordingly, Japan took over the diplomatic sovereignty of Korea. This is shameless and gangster-like sophism.

The "Ulsa Five-point Treaty" was a false document which was fabricated in wanton violation of the requirements and principle of international law and it was unilaterally declared.

It is the trend of the times to settle the wrong past.

A country sidestepping the issue can hardly win the confidence of the international community and has no future.

Japan should bear this in mind and honestly admit the criminal fabrication of the "Ulsa Five-point Treaty" and opt for settling the past crimes.
