S. Korean Regime Accused of Suppressing Media
Pyongyang, November 17 (KCNA) -- The south Korean internet paper Jaju Minbo in an article on Nov. 14 denounced the regime for suppressing media.

The present regime's clampdown on media has become more serious than the one by the past Lee Myung Bak regime, the article noted, adding:

The prosecution sentenced Paek Un Jong, an editor of the internet paper Voice of Seoul, to 6 years in prison and confiscated his property for the mere reason that he chided the present chief executive.

It took such action after suppressing him for posting on a website an article titled "Suspicions about Park Geun Hye's declaration of her candidacy for the presidential election" carried by a U.S. paper in July, 2012.

Recalling that many citizens and students were indicted and tried on unreasonable charges, the article accused the regime of gagging those informing the public of truth.

It demanded the regime immediately stop its unjust clampdown on progressive media persons and those staging actions for justice.
