Mother's Day Marked in DPR of Korea
Pyongyang, November 16 (KCNA) -- All the families of the DPRK marked Mother's Day. Sons and daughters congratulated their mothers.

Mothers across the country visited statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill in Pyongyang and in different parts of the country to lay floral baskets and bouquets and pay tribute to them.

They also visited the bust of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk in the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong, her statues in Kim Jong Suk County and Hoeryong City.

Exemplary nurses, teachers and employees of the baby homes and orphanages of the country who were on tour of Pyongyang expressed thanks to the Workers' Party of Korea for sending them chima and jogori materials, etc.

Colorful art performances took place in Pyongyang and all provinces, cities and counties across the country to congratulate the mothers.

The Samjiyon Band of Mansudae Art Troupe gave a performance at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre and the National Symphony Orchestra gave a concert at the Moranbong Theatre.

The revolutionary drama "A Letter from a Daughter" was staged at the National Theatre.

Pyongyangites enjoyed circus at the Pyongyang Circus Theater and diverse films at the Kaeson Cinema, Tongdaewon Cinema, etc.

Similar art performances took place across the country including Phyongsong City, South Phyongan Province and Kanggye City, Jagang Province.

Women singing and laughing could be seen in the parks and pleasure grounds across the country.

Flower stands were crowded with the working people, young people and children.

Greeting cards were sent to mothers by their children from posts defending the country, socialist construction sites and universities and schools.

Public catering establishments across the country kindly served mothers greeting Mother's Day.
