L. Shukolinikov, chairman of the Permanent Standing Committee of the Belarus National Association of Friends of Korean People Named after Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, was elected chairman of the memorial committee.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural events praising the exploits of Kim Jong Il.
