Guidelines for Protection of National Heritage
Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, recently made public his work "To Protect National Heritage Is a Patriotic Undertaking for Adding Brilliance to the History and Traditions of Our Nation" on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's field guidance to Mausoleum of King Tangun.

The work clearly indicates the way of adding luster to cultural tradition of the Korean nation.

In this regard, Jong Song Il, a section chief of the Folklore Institute under the Academy of Social Sciences of the DPRK, told KCNA as follows:

The work shows the firm will of the Workers' Party of Korea to glorify the country as an advanced and highly civilized state in the world and a prosperous and strong nation with the time-honored history and brilliant culture, true to the noble intention of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

The work underscores the need to restore historical remains and relics to their original state, retain excellent traditions, conduct the work for protecting the national heritage as the nationwide and all-people one and put it on a scientific basis.

We, historians and archaeologists, have not paid due attention to preserving historical remains and relics in some parts of the country, under the pretext of difficult economic situation of the country.

But the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un in his work highly praised those people as patriots and unassuming men of meritorious service for devoting themselves to protecting national heritages even in remote areas.

We will devote our all to displaying the excellence of the Korean nation, in hearty response to his noble intention to glorify the precious cultural tradition of the Korean nation for all ages.
