Ugandan President Gives Banquet for Kim Yong Nam
Kampala, October 30 (KCNA Correspondent) -- Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, president of the Republic of Uganda, gave a banquet at the presidential palace on Thursday in honor of Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, on an official goodwill visit to Uganda.

Present there on invitation were Kang Ha Guk, minister of Public Health, Kung Sok Ung, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, So Kil Bok, vice-minister of External Economic Relations, Myong Kyong Chol, DPRK ambassador to Uganda, and other suite members.

Present there were Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, vice-president of Uganda, Dorothy Hyuha, deputy secretary general of the Uganda National Resistance Movement, Kahinda Otafire, minister of Justice, Jacob Oranya, vice-speaker of the National Assembly, Asuman Kiyingi, acting foreign minister, officials concerned and diplomatic envoys of different countries in the country.

Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in a speech said that the DPRK rendered material and moral assistance to Uganda and other African countries in their struggle to build a new society after their independence.

He expressed the will to make every possible effort to boost cooperation with the DPRK in the Non-aligned Movement and international arena.

Kim Yong Nam, speaking next, said that the firm foundation for the development of the bilateral relations provided by President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is growing stronger thanks to the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.

He expressed the belief that his visit would make a positive contribution to further developing the traditional relations of friendship between the DPRK and Uganda.
