Garib Newaz, president of the Bangladesh People's League, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee called upon progressive political parties, organizations and organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people and organizations for the study of the Juche idea to hold colorful political and cultural events in praise of the undying exploits of Kim Jong Il.
