DPRK Makes Progress in Economy
Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- The DPRK has made progress in the economic construction.

The modern Wisong Scientists Residential Quarter took its shape in the Unjong science area while the apartment houses for educators of Kim Chaek University of Technology were built on the scenic bank of the Taedong River in Pyongyang.

Meanwhile, big strides have been made in the country's major vast projects such as construction of power stations in tiers on the Chongchon River and stockbreeding base in Sepho tableland and a project for expanding the Kosan Fruit Farm.

Members of the February 17 Shock Brigade of Scientists and Technicians, active in different parts of the country, smoothly settled many knotty sci-tech problems arising in practice.

Also, good results were reported from power industry and railway transport. This month the electricity output in the thermal power field of the country has grown up 2.7 times when compared with the last year's same period, and the railway workers overfulfilled their September assignments.

Many industrial establishments have already carried out their yearly plans.
