He stated:

President Kim Il Sung formed DIU on Oct. 17 in 1926.

Guided by the lofty idea of DIU, he beat down the Japanese imperialists, achieved the historic cause of national liberation and built the DPRK into a socialist power independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in defence.

Leader Kim Jong Il made public his work "The Workers' Party of Korea Is a Juche-Type Revolutionary Party Which Inherited the Glorious Tradition of the DIU" in which he made clear the principled matters arising in developing the WPK into a Juche-oriented revolutionary party for eternity.

Independence, unity and Songun maintained by DIU have been regarded as the banner of victories by the WPK, and all the WPK's achievements are unthinkable without the tradition of the DIU.

The WPK and the people of the DPRK are carrying forward the history and tradition of the DIU in a single-minded unity around Marshal Kim Jong Un.

It is certain that the WPK will thoroughly implement the behests of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and make greater success in the building of a thriving socialist country under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.
