WPK Advances with August Names of Great Persons
Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- The people in the DPRK call the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) Kim Il Sung's and Kim Jong Il's party.

It is because President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il in their lifetime had strengthened the WPK into an invincible, revolutionary and veteran party.

In his early years Kim Il Sung formed the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU), predecessor of the WPK, basing himself on the stand of independence.

Then he provided a solid basis for building a party during the anti-Japanese armed struggle and realized the historic cause of party foundation after Korea's liberation from Japan's colonial rule.

Under his guidance, the Workers' Party of Korea, based on the popular masses, had built in Korea a powerful socialist country, independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in defence, weathering all sorts of trials.

Continuity to the history of the ever-victorious WPK was given by leader Kim Jong Il.

Through his energetic guidance Kim Jong Il developed the WPK into a party of Kim Il Sung. He formulated the President's revolutionary idea as Kimilsungism and proclaimed it as the supreme program of the party to model the whole society on Kimilsungism.

He also provided the precious ideo-theoretical asset for the party's victorious advance by authoring such many famous works as "The Workers' Party of Korea Is the Party of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung".

Today Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the DPRK, guides the WPK to victory with his extraordinary political ability, adding brilliance to the exploits of Kim Jong Il.

He has published famous works, including "Let Us Brilliantly Accomplish the Revolutionary Cause of Juche, Holding Kim Jong Il in High Esteem as the Eternal General Secretary of Our Party", to indicate the tasks and ways for strengthening the function and role of the party in every way.

Under his guidance, the WPK will remain forever as the party of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
